Chocolate Yogurt Mousse Parfait

Breakfast? Dessert? Have it whenever you please! The only thing that is certain is that its almost too good to be as healthy as it is!

Hello there! Welcome to our first post on our lovely new website. We thought starting off with this little sweet treat was a good way to go, as it perfectly encompasses what we are about. Healthy, simple and delicious. We both work in hospitality, so pre-pandemic we were always go, go, go and our meal plans had to be able to be batch-made and portioned for the whole week. This little yogurt mousse parfait was my absolute go-to for either a snack or breakfast and believe me when I say it will brighten even the more dreadful of work days.

The trick with this recipe is two fold:

  1. Using Chobani Less Sugar Yogurt

  2. Cocoa Powder

I have a great love for Chobani, not only as a company but for their products. An important thing for me when devising a meal plan is always to keep sugar low in order to reduce bloating. In addition to this I prefer to get my sugar intake from fruits, vegetables and honey rather than processed products--with the exception of yogurt (Justin learned early on in our relationship, never separate a Greek person from their yogurt!). So, upon finding Chobani's less sugar option, I was in meal plan heaven.

Another wonderful ingredient is cocoa powder, it adds such a deep and indulgent chocolate flavor while also making the yogurt super fluffy and mousse like. Just keep in mind when you first add the cocoa powder it will clump up and seem to almost form a dough but don't let this discourage you, keep stirring the mixture until it smooths out and there are no clumps. Sometimes when I am feeling fancy I will combine the cocoa with only half the yogurt and then swirl the two together, this way you get ribbons of yogurt which comes in these great flavors:

  • Strawberry

  • Raspberry

  • Blueberry

  • Mango

  • Cherry

  • Lemon

  • Peach

  • Cinnamon Vanilla

I promise you I am not sponsored by Chobani, they're truly just one of my must have ingredients always and you'll be seeing a lot of it pop up in our meal plans.

Add some fresh fruit, homemade granola (recipe coming soon!) and your choice of nut butter and you have a little bowl of heaven packed with protein, fiber, and good fats.
